The nest (Chasing instar), from the series Containing the Divine | 2012

Embedded within the gallery walls, The Nest (Chasing instar) illustrates white silken nests that have overtaken a series of trees; their proximity and density is impressive while a strong wind animates this tableau vivant. The webs pervading the foliage of the hardwoods are the work of Fall webworms. This defoliator makes impressively large communal silk tents on the limbs of their tree or shrub hosts.
